DU inaugurates lab to detect coronavirus
Earlier on April 12, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare permitted four public universities including DU to test coronavirus
Dhaka University (DU) has inaugurated a laboratory to detect coronavirus on Tuesday.
Vice-chancellor Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated and inspected the lab, situated at Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) building, reports Prothom Alo.
The lab will be able to test 400 samples every day. The specialists think - if the lab is enriched and rearranged, it can be used for higher research in virology.
"I give heartfelt thanks and gratitude to those who have come forward to establish and direct the lab for the betterment of the greater good," said Md. Akhtaruzzaman.
"I asked all concerned with the lab to be careful of lessening risk and preserve security," he added.
