Local administration can impose lockdown: Cabinet secretary
Besides, the district administration has started imposing house-wise lockdown in Noakhali district as the cases of Covid-19 have increased compared to last month
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said on Monday that the local administration would be able to impose a lockdown if necessary considering the Covid-19 situation.
In a press briefing at the Secretariat today, the cabinet secretary further said that the Directorate General of Health Service division has been directed to ensure services in the hospitals of bordering districts.
Meanwhile, the ongoing lockdown in Chapainawabganj has been extended for another week - till 7 June - to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the district.
Besides, the district administration has started imposing house-wise lockdown in Noakhali district as the cases of Covid-19 have increased compared to last month.
The government Sunday extended ongoing Covid-19 restrictions till 6 June midnight to prevent the transmission of the deadly virus, in light of the current Covid-19 situation in the country and in neighbouring India.
