Protest rally to stop medical anarchy in Chattogram
Speakers demanded area-based booths to collect samples and issue reports within two days
A protest rally was held in Chattogram to stop anarchy in medical services by capitalising on coronavirus.
An organisation named Citizen Movement to Protect Public Health, Chattogram held the rally at the city's Cheragi hill intersection on Sunday.
Speakers demanded oxygen supply, adequate ICU beds for Covid-19 patients and an adequate supply of life-saving drugs.

Alongside ensuring safety for doctors-nurses and health workers, treatment at acquired private hospitals should also be provided, they further said.

Otherwise, a tougher movement would be staged, they warned.
General secretary of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Chattogram district chapter, Ashok Shaha, Teacher Leader Principal Mohammad Jahangir, Recitation Artiste Rashed Hasan and others spoke on the occasion.
CPB Chattogram district general secretary Ashok Saha said every citizen of the state has the right to medical treatment. "But we see many dying without treatment. Is the state able to protect the rights of its citizens?"
Former president of the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), Chattogram, Engineer Delwar Majumder, BSD's (Bangladesh-erSamajtantrik Dal) coordinator Mahim Uddin, NAP leader Mithul Dasgupta and others expressed solidarity with the demonstration programme.
