EU drugs regulator approves AstraZeneca vaccine
The move comes in the midst of ongoing controversy about whether the Anglo-Swedish drug business is violating the bloc's vaccine distribution obligations

The European Union's drugs regulator has authorised the use of the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine for people aged over 18.
The move comes in the midst of ongoing controversy about whether the Anglo-Swedish drug business is violating the bloc's vaccine distribution obligations.
Hoping to prove a violation, the European Commission has released its contract with the drug-maker, reports the BBC.

AstraZeneca said last week that the supply of vaccines will be reduced due to issues at one of its factories in the EU.
EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen told German radio on Friday that the contract signed in August included "binding orders" and called for clarification.
