Expat with corona symptoms flees Brahmanbaria hospital
The duty doctor of the emergency department gave him first aid and advised him to be admitted to the hospital
A Qatar-returnee expatriate fled Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital after hearing he showed symptoms of coronavirus.
The District Health Department has launched a search to find the migrant.
Sadar Hospital sources said that the expatriate came to Nasirnagar Sadar Hospital on Wednesday evening with fever, cold, cough and respiratory problems. The duty doctor of the emergency department gave him first aid and advised him to be admitted to the hospital. The migrant then went to the hospital's medicine ward for admission.

Shortly afterwards, he returned to the emergency department and talked to the doctor. The doctor then informed him that he showed symptoms of COVID-19 and various tests would be conducted. After hearing this, he fled the hospital in fear.
ABM Musa Chowdhury, a duty doctor in the emergency department of the Sadar Hospital, said, "The expatriate was suffering from pneumonia, cold, coughs and breathing problems. His body temperature was 100 to 101 degrees Celsius. He was advised to be admitted to the hospital. However, he fled the hospital after hearing that he would be examined for symptoms of the coronarvirus."
Sadar Hospital Superintendent Shawkat Hossain said, "The man had returned from Qatar on March 3. Without telling anyone, the expatriate escaped from the hospital. The matter was reported at the District Civil Surgeon office and Nasirnagar Upazila Health Complex."
