BFIU seeks bank account details of S Alam’s 13 relatives, including 7 brothers
The list also includes Saiful Alam's wife Farzana Parveen and their two sons Ahsanul Alam and Ashraful Alam
The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought access to bank account details of 13 relatives, including seven brothers, of S Alam Group Chairman Mohammed Saiful Alam.
In a letter sent to all banks and financial institutions on Monday (26 August), the central bank's intelligence unit sought information on all bank accounts held in the names of Saiful Alam's brothers and six other relatives.
The BFIU requested information about joint or individual accounts associated with business organisations they may be involved in.

The list includes Saiful Alam's wife Farzana Parveen and their two sons Ahsanul Alam and Ashraful Alam.
Saiful Alam's brothers named in the letter are Mohammad Abdullah Hasan, Osman Gani, Abdus Samad, Rashedul Alam, Sahidul Alam, and Morshedul Alam.
Besides Hamidur Rahman's son Miskat Ahmed, Abul Kashem's daughter Farzana Begum, and Ferdousul Kabir's daughter Shahana Ferdous are also on the list. Although they are connected to the S Alam family, the specific nature of their relationship could not be confirmed.
