Janata Bank mourns former chairman Luna Shamsuddoha’s death
She died of cancer at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on 17 February
The Board of Directors of Janata Bank Limited has expressed deep grief over the death of former chairman Luna Shamsuddoha.
Chairman of the Bank Dr SM Mahfuzur Rahman told Tuesday's board meeting, "The nation will forever remember her [Luna] contribution to the technical sector and women's empowerment."
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank Abdus Salam Azad said, "During her tenure as the chairman from February 2019 to June that year, she worked tirelessly to move the bank forward."
Luna died of cancer at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on 17 February.
Officials and employees of the bank expressed their condolences to Luna's grieving family members at the meeting, seeking forgiveness for her departed soul.
