BSCIC launches one-stop services Industry
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the service at a function at Hotel Intercontinental on Sunday
Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) launched one-stop services to increase domestic and foreign investments.
Small and medium entrepreneurs can now submit applications online through BSCIC for trade licence, land registration, environmental clearance certificate, approval for construction and gas, power and water connections, telephone connections, broiler certificate and many other things.
So, investors will not have to go to any other government organisations for the initial permission and other services.
Inaugurating the one-stop services on Sunday at hotel InterContinental Dhaka in the capital, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, "investors must easily access the services that we promised. They should not face any kind of harassment."
BSCIS has also begun a process to make 17 services given by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change available through the one-stop service platform.
Twenty-nine more services of BSCIC's own and 13 other services outside the purview of BSCIC will also be brought under the platform gradually.
Like Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority, BSCIC is also working with the Local Government Division to issue trade licences to organisations in its industrial zones.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder said investors from now on would be able to get services of BSCIC from home quickly and spending less than before.
Government organisations will serve investors, working in coordination, he added. BSCIC has 76 industrial zones across the country, and it has taken a mega plan to set up 100 environment-friendly industrial parks on lands of 40,000 acre in economically important areas in Bangladesh by 2041.
In the next five years, the industrial zones under BSCIC will employ 1.15 crore people, said its Chairman Mustaque Hassan.
