BSMMU pay respect at national memorial celebrating Victory Day
On the occasion of the Great Victory Day 2024, the BSMMU administration has organised various programs, including hoisting the national flag and the university's flag on the campus, laying wreaths at the Savar National Memorial, voluntary blood donation and tree planting on the university campus, and offering prayers after Zohar at the Central Jama Masjid.
In addition, on this national day, Monday, December 16, 2024, high-quality food was served to patients and students injured in the anti-discrimination student movement who were undergoing treatment at BSMMU.
The blood donation program organised by the Transfusion Medicine Department of BSMMU was inaugurated as the chief guest by the honourable Chief Advisor's Special Assistant Professor, Dr Sayedur Rahman. Later, he inaugurated the tree plantation program on the BSMMU campus as the chief guest. After that, he visited the students and all the patients injured in the anti-discrimination student movement and undergoing treatment at BSMMU. They served high-quality food among them. Currently, the honourable Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU, Professor Dr Shahinul Alam, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader, Proctor Dr Sheikh Farhad, Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Dr Md. Rezaur Rahman and others were present.
Meanwhile, at the Savar National Memorial, senior officials of the university administration, teachers, doctors, resident students, officials and employees, led by honourable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam, paid tribute by laying wreaths. Honourable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shahinul Alam celebrated Victory Day as the nation's most significant national holiday. He mentioned the achievements, "The great Victory Day pledges that the Medical University will be a new horizon for research, education and treatment, and the goal will be to achieve international standards. To implement this pledge and fulfil the goal, everyone must fulfil their respective responsibilities and duties properly." The honourable Vice Chancellor said that students should not be discriminated against. -Remembered with deep respect those who died in the popular uprising and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
