Coast Guard seizes 25,500 yaba pills in Patuakhali
In the early hours of Tuesday, 26 November 2024, the Bangladesh Coast Guard carried out a successful anti-narcotics operation in Nijampur, Patuakhali, recovering 25,500 yaba pills.
The operation, led by BCG Station Nijampur under the South Zone, was based on confidential intelligence, according to Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taki, Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters. Around 12:30 AM, Coast Guard personnel identified a suspicious individual in Nijampur's 7th Ward. When instructed to stop, the individual fled, abandoning a bag in the process.
Upon searching the bag, the Coast Guard discovered the large quantity of yaba pills. The seized drugs have since been handed over to Mohipur Police Station for legal proceedings.
