Islami Bank honoured as top remittance receiver in 2024
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has received the "Top Remittance Receiver Bank Award 2024," announced at the Bangladesh Remittance Fair held in New York.
On the occasion, Raihanul Islam Chowdhury, senior vice president of the Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the crest and certificate to Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of Islami Bank, during a ceremony at the Islami Bank Tower on Sunday, 1 December 2024.
The award, jointly organised by the Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muktadhara New York, and USA-Bangladesh Business Links, was in recognition of the bank's continuous contributions to Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves by securing the highest expatriate remittance income from the United States.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director, Md Omar Faruk Khan, Md Altaf Hossain, and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, additional managing directors, along with Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy managing director, A K M Mahbub Morshed, senior executive vice president, Mohammad Masud, executive vice president, and Nazrul Islam, senior vice president, were present at the ceremony. Representatives from the Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including Madhu Sudan Saha and Ritesh Saha, also attended.
Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of Islami Bank, dedicated the recognition to expatriate remittance workers, expressing gratitude for their continued confidence in the bank. He highlighted that Islami Bank accounts for one-third of the country's remittance and pledged to uphold this trend in the future.
