NSU Debate Club hosts British Parliamentary debate tournament 'NSU Dialogue 2024'
The NSU Dialogue 2024, a British Parliamentary (BP) debate tournament, kicked off successfully at North South University (NSU). Organised by the NSU Debate Club (NSUDC), the two-day event gathered 36 top debate teams from across Bangladesh, turning the NSU campus into a lively space for intellectual discussions.
Participants showcased their skills in public speaking, analytical thinking, and argumentation, debating on a wide range of social, political, and economic topics. The BP format, featuring four teams in each debate, encouraged diverse viewpoints and critical thinking.
The opening rounds were marked by engaging debates, with teams presenting strong arguments and sharp rebuttals. The judging panels, consisting of experienced adjudicators, ensured fairness and provided valuable feedback to the participants.
On Day Two, the competition intensified as the top teams competed for the championship title. In the final round on October 19th, Team NSU Blue, comprising Adib Faisal and Siam Marjan, claimed victory after a tough contest. NSUDC faculty advisor Omar Nasif Abdullah spoke at the award ceremony, appreciating the efforts of all participants and celebrating the success of the event.
NSU Dialogue 2024 confirmed its place as one of the leading debate platforms in Bangladesh, promoting leadership, critical thinking, and intellectual exchange. The event offered debaters a chance to showcase their skills and engage in thoughtful discussions while respecting different views.
With this year's tournament, NSU continued its tradition of encouraging the art of debate and intellectual dialogue.
