Prime Bank hosts Annual Risk Conference to enhance risk awareness
Prime Bank PLC, a leading financial institution hosted its Annual Risk Conference 2024 to reinforce a robust risk culture within the organisation.
The conference featured Mr. A.N.M. Moinul Kabir, director of the Department of Off-Site Supervision (DOS), Bangladesh Bank, as the special guest, and Ms. Surabhi Ghosh, additional director of DOS, as the chief guest. Joint directors of DOS, Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Mohammad Arif Hasan and Ms. Mst. Nazmin Nahar, also attended as resource persons. The event was presided over by Mr. Md. Ziaur Rahman, deputy managing director and chief risk officer of Prime Bank.
Held at the Marina Yasmin Chowdhury Conference Hall at Prime Bank's Niketon office in Dhaka, the conference brought together approximately 200 participants, including branch operation managers and members of the Executive Risk Management Committee and Risk Management Forum of the bank.
Distinguished central bankers shared insights on Bangladesh Bank's risk management policies and guidelines, addressing challenges within the banking sector. They commended Prime Bank's exemplary risk management practices and its commitment to fostering a strong risk culture.
Prime Bank's Head of Risk Management, Mr. Mohammad Jashim Uddin, and Deputy Head, Mr. Kazi Naim Morshed, discussed operational risks and their impact on the bank's performance and reputation. They emphasised teamwork and proactive measures to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the bank's readiness to address emerging threats.
The conference also recognised the "Top Proactive Risk Identifiers" for their outstanding contributions to risk management.
Concluding the event, Mr. Md. Ziaur Rahman expressed gratitude to the officials of Bangladesh Bank and Prime Bank participants for their valuable contributions. He reiterated the bank's dedication to enhancing its existing risk management practices to address future challenges effectively.
