Rangpur Riders to tour Rangpur with two trophies

This is the first time in Bangladeshi cricket history that a franchise team has won a foreign tournament and brought the trophy home.

Rangpur Riders created a sensation in Bangladeshi cricket by winning the Global T20 League. Now, the team is set to tour their home city, Rangpur, with that glittering trophy. As part of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) trophy tour, the BPL trophy will also accompany the Rangpur Riders.

Rangpur Riders has organised various events for this trophy tour on December 20th. The team players will arrive in Rangpur by helicopter. Various programmes will feature both trophies (GSL and BPL).

Fifteen hundred jerseys will be distributed to fans across Rangpur. The BPL mascot, 'Dana 36,' will also be at the event. At 1 p.m., the Rangpur Riders will parade through the city with the two trophies. At 2 p.m., a player meet-and-greet session will be held at Rangpur Cricket Stadium.

General cricket fans will even have the opportunity to take pictures with the trophies. From 3 p.m. onwards, a concert featuring the renowned Bangladeshi band Avoid Rafa will be held.

In December 2024, Rangpur won the Global T20 League in Guyana. This five-team tournament featured the top five teams from five countries. Under the leadership of Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rangpur defeated Victoria by 56 runs in the final.
