Uttara University signs MoU with Coppin State University
Uttara University hosted a seminar on January 21, 2025, featuring Dr Jamal Uddin, professor and founding director of the Center for Nanotechnology at Coppin State University, USA, as the keynote speaker. The seminar highlighted the university's commitment to fostering academic and research collaborations globally.
Dr Uddin delivered an engaging keynote speech on the transformative applications of nanotechnology in energy, health, and environmental sustainability, showcasing its potential to address critical global challenges.
The event's highlight was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Uttara University and Coppin State University. The MoU was signed by Uttara University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Gour Gobinda Goswami, and Dr Jamal Uddin. The agreement aims to enable academic exchanges, joint research projects, and other collaborative initiatives between the institutions.
"We are thrilled to establish this important partnership with Coppin State University," said Prof Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha. "This collaboration will create new opportunities for our students and faculty, further enhancing our research capacity and promoting the development of innovative solutions through nanotechnology."
The seminar was jointly organized by the Department of Physics and the Office of External Affairs at Uttara University. Faculty members, students, and researchers participated in the event.
The signing of the MoU marks a significant milestone in Uttara University's efforts to expand its global presence and contribute to cutting-edge research in science and technology, particularly in nanotechnology, sustainable energy, and health advancements.
