Guardian Life Insurance launches online claims tool amid shutdown
After evaluating the claims, the company will pay its customers via online payment channels – including banks
Guardian Life Insurance has started receiving claims from policyholders, online, during this shutdown – to ensure that customers avoid being exposed to Covid-19.
On Monday, M M Monirul Alam, managing director and CEO of Guardian Life, launched the online claim submission tool at a virtual press briefing to stick to social distancing and to assist customers.
Monirul Alam said, "We have 1.12 crore customers and we settle more than 5,500 insurance claims, totalling Tk15-16 crore, on average, every month."
"It is our commitment to pay claims – which is a core value of a life insurance company. We started this online system so that policyholders can submit their claims from their homes now."
"This is the first time in the country that a life insurance company has adopted a secure digital solution for end-to-end claims settlement, enabling customers to receive their claims payouts from the comfort of their homes."
Corporate customers of Guardian Life will be able to submit life and medical insurance claims – including for hospitalisation and death – via mobile, laptop or desktop computer anytime, anywhere, from now on.
After evaluating the claims, the company will pay its customers via online payment channels – including banks.
By the end of May 2020, individual policyholders will also come under the scope of this platform.
Guardian Life is already selling life insurance policies online through its EasyLife App and website where customers can buy life insurance policies within just 15 minutes, from anywhere.
