Saudi private, public sectors keen to invest in Bangladesh: Envoy
The Saudi ambassador also sought cooperation of the foreign ministry to help implement the agreements and MoUs signed in the recent past between the two nations
TBS ReportSaudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yussef Essa Al Dulaihan has conveyed the interest of Saudi public and private companies to invest in different sectors of Bangladesh during a meeting with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.
The Saudi ambassador particularly mentioned the interests of companies such as Aramco, Acwa Power, Alfanar Group, Engineering Dimension, Red Sea Gateway Terminal, Daelim KSA and Aljumairah Group, read a foreign ministry press release on Sunday.
During the meeting held at the State Guest House Padma, the Saudi ambassador also sought cooperation of the Bangladesh's foreign ministry to help implement the agreements and memorandum of understandings (MoUs) signed in the recent past between the two nations.
The ambassador also apprised the foreign minister of the Saudi initiatives to facilitate smooth return of the stranded Bangladeshi citizens to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen expressed his satisfaction on the pace of return of the stranded Bangladeshi citizens to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the help of the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka.
He also assured the ambassador of extending all cooperation to further boost the existing bilateral cooperation.
The foreign minister invited Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Bangladesh in March 2021 to attend celebration the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, or in March 2022 to attend the celebration of 50 years of Bangladesh's independence.
