Beximco, allies get Tk356.5cr public IT contracts

Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) Ltd, along with its partner firms, have been awarded three IT contracts worth Tk356.5 crore by three government agencies.
Beximco said in a statement on Sunday its IT division, in collaboration with Dohatec New Media and DotGov Solutions LLC USA, signed a contract worth Tk47.5 crore with the Central Procurement Technical Unit of the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division under the planning ministry to develop an upgraded, full-fledged electronic project management information system.
The listed conglomerate, in collaboration with Indian firm Tech Mahindra Ltd and Bangladeshi firm Tech Valley Networks Ltd, was also awarded a contract worth Tk261 crore by Bangladesh's Directorate General of Food for the supply, installation, and commissioning of online food stock and market monitoring system financed by the World Bank.
The contract will be signed shortly, said Beximco.
In addition, Beximco Computers Ltd last month signed two contracts worth Tk48 crore with the Bangladesh Computer Council for establishing a cyber range at the Military Institute of Science and Technology and an IT Lab at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation.
These achievements reinforce the commitment of Beximco's IT division to participate in and contribute to the digital transformation of Bangladesh initiated by the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, read the statement.
The Business Standard failed to obtain any further detail about the sharing of revenue among the contract partners as Beximco's Company Secretary and Executive Director Mohammad Asad Ullah declined to comment.
