Mariah Carey tops billboard’s artist 100 across four decades
Mariah is the first artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 across four decades.
Mariah Carey just broke a record, when she made it to the top of the Hot 100 in the 2020s. Mariah is the first artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 across four decades, including the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and the 2020s claims a new report from The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the aforementioned outlet, her new song, "Christmas," spent its third week on top of the Hot 100 for the week ending on the 4th of January. Originally, the song dropped in 1994 and it was her 19th number one track, following fourteen other hit songs.

Mariah's "Christmas" came out as part of her record, "Merry Christmas", in the early 1990s, but went to the Hot 100's top 10 in December 2017 again following its number 3 position in 2018. It topped the chart yet again approximately two weeks ago.
Reportedly, it's the second Christmas song to go to up top since 1958 with The Chipmunk's track, "The Chipmunk Song." The song was on top of the charts for four weeks in the late 1950s, all the way until 1959. As fans of the artist know, Mariah is arguably one of the most iconic performers of all time, and certainly one of the best-selling as well.
However, not everyone gets along with her, including the rapper, Eminem. Fans of Eminem and Mariah Carey know they briefly dated in the early 2000s, around 2001 when they collaborated for the first time for her "Charmbracelet" record. Unfortunately, their purported relationship ended in disaster, leading to a notorious diss-track from the rapper titled "The Warning."
This year, Nick Cannon, Mariah's husband dropped a song, seemingly unexpectedly, called "The Invitation," and another one called "The Invitation Canceled"– aimed at the rapper both of which were widely disliked on YouTube, demonstrated by the massive like-to-dislike ratio.
Regardless of Carey's industry feuds and set-backs, Carey is still one of the most successful performing artists ever.
