First poster of ‘Rickshaw Girl’ released
An innocent girl with eyes full of dreams, untold stories, and a face that reflects her life’s story. Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s film titled ‘Rickshaw Girl’ is based on one such girl and its first poster was released on 25 August, said a press release. The poster has stirred curiosity among film-lovers and social media enthusiasts.
Eric James Adams produced the film where as Faridur Reza Sagor and Ziauddin Adil are the joint executive producers of the film. Screenplay writers are Naseef Faruque Amin and Sharbari Zohra Ahmed.
The shooting took place in various locations across the country including Pabna and Gazipur. More than 100 houses were built in the Bangabandhu Film City, Gazipur to make the set look like a slum. ‘Rickshaw Girl’ is based on Mitali Perkins’s best-selling book of the same title.

Novera Rahman plays the lead role of ‘Naima’ who is the free spirited daughter of a rickshaw-puller. She grew up in a village and her life is as colourful as the alpanas she makes.
Her earnings from the drawing these alpanas are not sufficient to run her family. However, that does not stop Naima from experimenting with colours and paintbrushes.
One day she steps out of her house to chase her dream. Her new experiences give birth to a new Naima who is a brave rickshaw girl.
Director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury said, “Rickshaw Girl was made with the vision to heighten the standard of Bangladesh films in the international arena. The film’s first poster represents an independent and courageous woman whose adventurous journey we are going to witness in the film.”
