When TikTok was flooded with videos of people making pancake cereal, netizens thought that was going to be the big food trend across the social media platforms.
However, in few weeks, social media influencer and food -vlogger, Justin Schuble, 24, who is the founder and creative director of DCFoodPorn, introduced cookie cereal which took over social media.
Justin Schuble posted his cookie cereal video on TikTok and Instagram on May 7.
Schuble, was inspired to make cookie cereal by another social media influencer Sydney Melhoff — who also launched the pancake cereal trend.
Justin Schuble, aka @dcfoodporn, posted about the trend of baking tiny little cookies at home and then put them in a bowl with milk, across social media which soon went viral.
Sydney used some shop-bought cookie dough and rolled out tiny balls onto a baking tray in order to bake the tiny cookies in an oven for about five to seven minutes.
In an interview with the Insider, Schuble said he learned a lot from his first attempt and picked up some tricks when he made cookie cereal the 2nd time.
When he first tried to make cookie cereal, Schuble took one pack of Nestlé Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough and cut it both lengthwise and crosswise. Then he rolled each small square of dough into a ball and placed them all on a cookie sheet.
He baked the cookies at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for seven minutes.
Back in March, another food-vlogger Valentina Mussi also tried to turn cookies into cereal, using store-bought miniature chocolate chip cookies to experiment the concept.
Mussi decided make her own cookie cereal from scratch after watching Schuble's videos.
