The growing unrest in the United States is far from subsiding. After a series of vandalism incidents, now the target was the late band vocalist Chris Cornell.
His sculpture stood in Seattle, Cornell's hometown. Many believe the vandalism of the bronze statue was a targeted incident. People found the statue covered in white paint.
Cornell's widow had commissioned the piece and later donated it to a museum. Vicky Cornell revealed that the family was "heartbroken" to hear about the incident.

The statue was a tribute to the late star. Vicky Cornell took to Instagram as she addressed the disrespectful incident.
"The statue is not only art, but a tribute to Chris, his incomparable musical legacy and everything that he stood for. It represents Chris, who is beloved not only in Seattle, but worldwide," Vicky had this heartfelt message.
Vicky also tried to distance it from the recent acts of vandalism surrounding the protests in the city. She claimed it was from an individual who attempted to dishonour his legacy.
She gave hope through her Instagram post. And she concluded writing, "Hate will not win. CHRIS IS SEATTLE'S SON forever..."
Chris Cornell committed suicide just 3 years back. The talented musician was only 52 at the time.
