Game of Thrones’ Jamie Lannister almost signed a petition for a different finale
The petition attracted countless fans wanting better endings for their favourite characters
It's been a year since the supposedly "underwhelming" ending of the HBO's Game of Thrones. It was criticized harshly by critics and fans alike. Some fans, going as far as making petitions for a redo of the final season.
The petition attracted countless fans wanting better endings for their favourite characters. But as it turns out the petition almost had cast members involved in it.
In a recent interview with Variety, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, better remembered as Game of Throne's Jamie Lannister, he revealed that he almost donated to the petition asking creators to remake season eight.
"I was aware of the petition for a new ending, which I thought was hilarious," said the Danish actor.
The actor added that, "I almost wanted to donate to that petition. HBO saying, 'You're right, so many people want it, we're going to do it.'"
However, the actor later clarified in the interview that he didn't have any particular issues with the ending-
"It was great. It was fine. How do you end that story? Let's talk about this in 10 years, then you can talk about it. But now, I think it's a little too recent," Explained the actor.
He even praised the idea of Jamie's death in the arms of his beloved, Cersei. Saying in last year's comic-con, "I thought it was perfect for him to end in the arms of Cersei. It made sense to me, that's just my opinion."
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is slowly shedding his Game of Thrones popularity. And moving towards new features. The actor has been recently involved in "The Silencing".
