Court imposed permanent travel ban on ex-lawmaker Henry
A Dhaka court today issued a permanent travel ban on former Awami League lawmaker from Sirajganj-2 constituency Jannat Ara Henry, her husband Shamim Talukder and daughter Muntaha.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order upon a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Assistant director of the ACC Asif Al Mahmud, who was entrusted with conducting enquiries into allegations of amassing illegal wealth beyond known sources of income, filed the petition.
ACC Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir moved the petition before the court seeking permanent travel ban on Henry, saying she could leave the country any time.
The court, earlier on 19 September, imposed travel ban on Henry for 60 days.
