A Chattogram court has placed two people in two-day remand each in a case filed over ramming a car in student leaders Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam's motorcade with a truck in Lohagara recently.
The suspects - Mojibur Rahman, driver of the truck, and his son Rifat Mia, who was a helper on the truck.
The court of Chattogram Judicial Magistrate Mahmudul Haque placed them on remand after police produced them before the court seeking five-day remand for each today (3 December).
"The court has remanded driver Mujibur Rahman and helper Rifat Mia in the case filed over Hasnat-Sarjis' motorcade being hit by a truck under the Road Transport Act," lawyer Muhammad Shahjahan said.
A car in Hasnat-Sarjis' motorcade met with an accident on 27 November as they were returning from Chattogram after offering prayers at the grave of Advocate Saiful Islam, who was killed during a protest over the jailing of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das.
The rammed car's driver filed a case over the accident with the Lohagara Police Station.
