Usman Khan shines with the first century of this BPL
Representing Chattogram Kings, the Pakistani batter reached the milestone in just 48 balls, smashing 11 boundaries and 5 towering sixes.
On a chilly, fog-laden afternoon in Mirpur, Usman Khan lit up the BPL stage with a blistering century, marking the tournament's first three-figure score this season.
Representing Chattogram Kings, the Pakistani batter reached the milestone in just 48 balls, smashing 11 boundaries and 5 towering sixes.
The century, Usman's second in his T20 career, came at a pivotal moment for his team. Chattogram had lost their opener Parvez Hossain Emon on the second ball of the innings, with Taskin Ahmed striking early and Sabbir Hossain taking the catch.
Undeterred, Usman took charge and unleashed a flurry of aggressive strokes, dismantling Rajshahi's bowling attack.
Graham Clark, the English batter, provided valuable support, and together they stitched a 120-run partnership for the second wicket off just 63 deliveries. Clark departed after a quick-fire 40 off 25 balls, falling to Sohag Gazi, but not before helping lay a solid foundation for Chattogram's big total.
This innings also marked the 33rd century in BPL history. Usman now joins an elite group of players to achieve the feat, his name etched alongside T20 greats.
His knock of 123 of 62 balls brought back memories of his 2023 century for Chattogram Challengers against Khulna Tigers, further cementing his reputation as a reliable and explosive batter in the format.
In BPL history, Chris Gayle's unbeaten 146 for Rangpur Riders in 2017 remains the highest individual score.
