Shwapno superstore support farmers from Rajbari
Despite a bumper harvest of winter cauliflower, farmers in various regions are not receiving the expected prices.
Many farmers have been seen sitting in their fields and crying because they lack a fair price, and the media has recently reported on this.
This matter came to the attention of shwapno, one of the country's leading supermarkets. Last week, shawapno purchased cauliflower from farmers in Meherpur, bringing smiles to their faces. Now, after Meherpur, the shwapno team has reached Rajbari, working to alleviate the suffering of farmers. On January 9th (Thursday), the shawapno team purchased cauliflower at a fair price from farmers in Rajbari.
This cauliflower, purchased directly from farmers, is being sold in shwapno outlets in Dhaka and outside Dhaka.
The institution purchased several thousand cauliflowers from Mizan Mandal and Tuktu Sheikh, cauliflower farmers in the Baliakandi area of Rajbari.
Sabbir Hasan Nasir, Managing Director of shwapno, said in this regard, "We first became aware of the plight of the farmers in Meherpur through social media and news reports. Later, we learned about farmers' distress in Rajbari regarding the sale of cauliflower. The shwapno team reached Rajbari after Meherpur and decided to purchase cauliflower from the distressed farmers. The cauliflower from the fields of these farmer brothers in the Rajbari area will be available at shwapno outlets from today (Friday) for our valued customers. Wherever farmers are crying, the shwapno team will reach there. If farmers survive, the country survives."
