BNP, Khelafat Majlis discuss national unity against fascism

As part of ongoing efforts to foster inter-party relationships and build national unity against fascism, Khelafat Majlis held a dialogue with BNP today (22 January).
The meeting, held at 12 noon at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, saw the participation of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Liaison Committee Chief Nazrul Islam Khan.
Khelafat Majlis was represented by its Amir, Maulana Abdul Basit Azad, along with Secretary General Dr Ahmad Abdul Quader and other senior leaders, including Maulana Sakhowat Hossain, Professor Abdullah Farid, Advocate Jahangir Hossain, Muhammad Muntassir Ali, ABM Sirajul Mamun, Mostafizur Rahman Faisal, and Professor Abdul Jolil.
In a statement issued by Khelafat Majlis Central Publicity Secretary Abdul Hafiz Khosru, it was announced that both parties reached an agreement on seven key issues during the dialogue.
The agreed points include continuing inter-party dialogues to strengthen national unity, holding national elections by 2025 following necessary reforms, and adopting effective measures to stabilise commodity prices and improve law and order.
Both parties also stressed the need to uphold Islamic values and maintain religious harmony, prevent the resurgence of fascism, and ensure justice for victims of murder, enforced disappearances, and torture through expedited trials.
Additionally, they called for the swift withdrawal of false cases filed against Islamic scholars and political workers during the tenure of the Awami League government.
The dialogue marks a step forward in the shared goal of building a unified front against oppressive governance and addressing pressing national issues.
