Ryan Gosling in talks for Shawn Levy’s Upcoming Star Wars film
Ryan Gosling is reportedly in negotiations to star in an upcoming 'Star Wars' movie directed by Shawn Levy, known for 'Deadpool' and 'Wolverine.' The untitled project, developed in late 2022, features a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper ('The Adam Project'). Levy will also produce the film under his 21 Laps banner alongside Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy.
This standalone film, separate from the Skywalker Saga, could accelerate Lucasfilm's production slate, possibly ahead of previously announced projects by James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Dave Filoni. Levy's movie follows the anticipated 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' film, scheduled for release on 22 May 2026.
For Gosling, joining the galaxy far, far away marks a notable shift, as he has largely avoided major franchise roles. Before this, he will star in 'Project Hail Mary,' a sci-fi adaptation by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, based on Andy Weir's bestseller.
