July Uprising: CU expels 73 students over attacks on protesters, journos
More students will be expelled later if the administration finds evidence against them, said the university's Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Kamal Uddin
The University of Chittagong (CU) has expelled 73 students for reported attacks on protesting students and journalists during the July-August uprising.
The university's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Kamal Uddin disclosed the information at a memorial service organised in memory of those martyred and injured in the uprising at the Shaheed Minar square of the university on Thursday (January 23).
"We have expelled a total of 73 students for attacking [protesting] students and journalists who supported the students during the student movement," he said.
"We have initially expelled those for whom we have evidence. More students will be expelled later if we find evidence," he added.
