Executive committee of 29th BCS cadres formed

A 23-member Executive Committee of the 29th BCS (Administration) Cadre Service was officially announced yesterday (5 February).
Tariq Hasan, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, has been elected as the President, while RHM Alawol Kabir, private secretary to the adviser for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, has been elected as the general secretary.
Mohammad Nazmul Islam Sarkar, private secretary to the chairman of the National Board of Revenue, has been elected as vice president-1. ASM Jamshed Khondokar, private secretary to the chief of the Police Reform Commission, has been elected as vice president-2 and Dr Ashfiqun Nahar, deputy secretary of the Local Government Division, has been elected as vice president-3.
Additionally, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, deputy director (deputy secretary) at the Dhaka District Commissioner's Office, has been elected as treasurer, and Mohammad Sirajul Islam, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has been elected as office secretary.
It is noteworthy that on 24 December 2024, a 15-member convening committee was formed with the consensus of all members to facilitate the formation of a full-fledged executive committee for the 29th BCS (Administration) Cadre Service. To ensure a fair election, this convening committee appointed Md Rashedul Haque as Chief Election Commissioner and Aminul Islam and Sohana Nasrin as Election Commissioners.
Today, for the first time, the election commission has democratically announced the 23-member biennial executive committee of the 29th BCS (Administration) Cadre.
Newly elected President Tariq Hasan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, shared his reaction, stating, "We will formulate a modern and timely constitution for the batch, prepare a comprehensive database of all members, and take necessary steps to enhance the qualitative excellence of the members to meet their various demands. Additionally, initiatives will be taken to foster inter-cadre harmony and undertake various public welfare-oriented activities."
