A man has been killed in an attack by robbers in Laxmipur municipality early today.
The deceased, named Atikullah, son of late Muslim Miah, was a resident of ward no. 15 of the municipality.
According to Officer-in-Charge of Lazmipur sadar police station AKM Azizur Rahman, "A group of five to six masked robbers entered Atikullah's house by breaking the door at around 3am. The robbers beat him up severely as he tried to resist them and looted gold ornaments and cash taka from the house."

"Hearing the noise, Atikullah's neighbours rushed in to the spot but the robbers manage to flee the scene. Atikullah was rushed to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries," Azizur Rahman said.
"Investigation is going on regarding this matter," he added.
