Covid-19 stricken MP Israfil Alam on life support
He was taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital on Friday night
Md Israfil Alam, a member of the 11th parliament from Naogaon-6 constituency, has been put on life support at a private hospital in Dhaka after being tested positive for Covid-19.
Office Secretary of Awami League Central Committee and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's special assistant Barrister Biplob Barua confirmed the matter, Somoy TV reported.
"He was taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital on Friday night," he added.
Biplob Barua also said, "He was undergoing treatment at the capital's Square Hospital from July 6 to July 12. He was taken home after he had recovered a little bit."
An Awami League policy-making leader said, "The oxygen saturation level in his body is only 30 percent and 70 percent is running artificially. That is why his condition is critical."
