Shipra likely to sue police officials under DSA
Her lawyer said she would go for legal action against two senior police officials on cyberbullying allegations
Shipra Rani Debnath is determined to continue her fight for justice in lower court as the High Court (HC) Thursday rejected a writ petition seeking action against two senior police officers over cyberbullying.
Shipra — a crew member of slain retired major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan — may go to Ramu Police Station Friday to file a case against the senior police officials under the Digital Security Act (DSA), said her lawyer.
"She is determined to file the case with Ramu Police Station under the DSA. The decision will be finalized tonight or Friday morning," Shipra's lawyer Mahbubul Alam Tipu told The Business Standard.

A private university student Shipra previously went to Cox's Bazar Police Station to lodge a lawsuit over the cyberbullying against her. She was told to go to Ramu Police Station and the student on Wednesday headed for it. However, she returned to her resort over a HC decision.
Shipra Debnath decided to wait as she came to know that the HC will pass its order over a writ petition seeking action against two senior police officers, who posted Shipra's photographs online with provocative comments.
The HC Thursday rejected the writ petition filed seeking action against the Superintendent of Police of Satkhira and Superintendent of the Bureau of Investigation (PBI) for posting Shipra Debnath's personal photos and videos on social media.
The HC told the writ petitioner Barrister Manoj Kumar Bhowmick that the victim herself could go to the lower court seeking legal remedy.
Meanwhile, a Cox's Bazar court Thursday instructed Ramu police to hand over seized 29 items belonging to Shipra Debnath including a laptop, and a desktop to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the order after hearing the petition filed by RAB.
On July 31, former Bangladesh Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan died in police firing on Cox's Bazar marine drive. He was filming a travel documentary with Shipra Debnath, Shahedul Islam Sifat and another youth.
After the death of the retired major, Satkhira police super Mostafijur Rahman on August 14 posted some personal photos of Shipra online. PBI official Mizanur Rahman Shelley also uploaded a similar post to facebook.
