Food for Good: 100 days 10,000 meals
Universal Amity, a charity organisation, took an initiative to feed the starved in the pandemic with their 'Food for Good' project. On June 8, the group started distributing meals at night in Mirpur-1 area. From that day onward, the group served food to 80-100 street people each day.
Universal Amity collects donation from people who are willing to share their happiness with the poor and homeless of society. The volunteers buy the groceries with the money, cook food and deliver it to the hands of those who are in want of food. A volunteer from Universal Amity said that Tk 100 can help bring a meal for five kids.
The founder of Universal Amity, Mehedi Hasan, said that he was inspired that to make a difference and to do something for the people in need rather than doing nothing. He hopes of serving in other areas of Dhaka city in future.
