The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Sunday evicted the Bangladesh Imitation Jewellery Cooperative Society from a room on the first floor of Ward councillor's office for their Illegal occupation.
The mobile court, headed by DSCC Executive Magistrate AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed, also evicted illegal occupants from four shops, adjacent to the councillor's office in ward no 25 of the city.
Executive Magistrate Irfan Uddin Ahmed said the Imitation Jewellery Cooperative Society illegally occupied a room on the second floor of the councillor's office in Lalbag area for a long time, according to a press release of the DSCC.
"Today [Sunday] we broke the lock of that room and reclaimed it. As per the mobile court order, the occupant has removed furniture immediately from the room. And then the DSCC team made a list of seized items and handed those over to the ward councillor," he said.
Magistrate Irfan further said during the drive, four illegally occupied shops adjoining the ward councillor's office were also vacated and reclaimed.
The occupants of the shops have been asked to remove their valuables between 10 am and 5 pm on Monday, he added.
