HSC, equivalent exams schedule yet to be announced

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has yet to announce the new schedule for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations that have remained stalled for some time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last week, the Minister told the media that the HSC examinations schedule will be released either on Monday or Tuesday.
According to Ministry officials, the Minister was occupied with World Teachers' Day events and no one could confirm whether she will announce the exam schedule on Tuesday.
Nazmul Haque Khan, additional secretary (secondary 1) of the Ministry, told The Business Standard that they do not know when the announcement will be made regarding the exam schedule.
"We will find out once the Minister informs us," he said.
Sources at the Ministry said there is no scheduled event to announce the timetable for HSC and equivalent examinations.
Dr Dipu Moni, on 30 September, said, "We have made all the preparations to hold the exams, and have even set the question papers.
Earlier, the education boards had announced that they are prepared to hold the HSC and equivalent examinations, maintaining health guidelines and that they need 15 days to make the arrangements.
About 13 lakh students were expected to sit for the examinations that were scheduled to start from 01 April. But the government was forced to postpone them due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The exams were meant to be held at over 9,000 educational institutions under 11 education boards – nine general, one madrasa and one technical education board.
On 16 March, the Ministry issued a press release announcing the government's decision to close all educational institutions and coaching centres from 18-31 March, taking into consideration students' safety amidst the global pandemic.
Classes have been suspended since that day, although administrative activities gradually resumed.
The Ministry has extended the closure on several occasions. First till 09 April, then 25 April, 05 May, 30 May, 06 August, 31 August and finally until 03 October.
