A growth partner for businesses in the new reality
It is a quarter since we started operations in Bangladesh to empower advertisers on Facebook. And it was an interesting experience, leading to an exciting ride. Bangladesh was a natural step in our international expansion. Httpool has been present in the APAC region for a decade now and we decided that it was indeed time to harness the opportunity and begin contributing to the digital and general economic growth of Bangladesh.
Httpool is the largest partner of major global publishers across the globe. Together with our corporate company IMS, we represent over 20 major platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Spotify, Tiktok, and Opera across 45 different markets from Indonesia to Europe and Latin America. And while we might be new to Bangladesh, we have been around globally for two decades, including a full decade in Asia. Our teams consist of seasoned local experts, who provide support and market expertise to local businesses and agencies.
Little did we expect that we would be setting up operations in a new country under unprecedented circumstances, dictated by the Covid-19 emergency.
As a challenger brand, we decided to do what we do best – harness the full potential of digital. We incepted Httpool Bangladesh completely through virtual channels to enable the business to kick off in real life. All formalities related to Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), National Board of Revenue (NBR) and Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) like enlisting the project, company registration, office opening permission, E-tin, work permit and few other mandatories were done digitally without any hassle. It was just an amazing experience that proved how the government's efforts to digitalize the nation and the services paid off.
So, here we are. A digital advertising enabler in a country of endless growth possibilities.
Bangladesh is an amazing and fast-growing market. From a total of 160 million people, around 92.46 million Bangladeshi are actively using the Internet, representing 58% of the entire population. Since the implementation of the "Digital Bangladesh" policy in 2009, the country has seen major progress in setting up of the digital infrastructure, growing digital service and businesses, use of Internet, and social media.
The policy became even more so important during the Covid-19 lockdowns. Businesses couldn't operate physically and a vast majority of services moved online. With most of the people spending most of their time online, digital advertising was the channel to use for all kinds of businesses. From small shops and services to big brands, they could all reach their customers online.
And as the online space became the number one advertising arena, it is extremely easy to get lost in it, if you don't have previous experience. More often than not, businesses carry out digital campaigns without a proper navigation tool or guidance. While their activities do yield some results, these are many times not the best they could achieve.
And this is where we wanted to lend our expertise to the people of Bangladesh.
As Facebook Authorized Sales Partner, Httpool provides local advertisers with the option for local currency transactions. Our experts are trained and equipped to deliver high quality Facebook media consultancy free of charge to local businesses and agencies in the local language.
