DU slashes holidays for 20-21 academic year
Besides, students 2019-2020 academic session will enjoy a 50% waiver on development fees during the academic year as per the decision taken at a syndicate meeting
The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) have decided to cut the duration of summer and winter vacations for the 2020-2021 academic year to offset the losses caused by the long-term closure enforced by the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was taken on Thursday at a university syndicate meeting chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman.
Under the decision, the summer vacation has been reduced to seven days from 17 days and the winter vacation to 20 days from 40 days.
Besides, students of 2019-2020 academic session will enjoy a 50% waiver on development fees during the academic year as per the decision taken in the meeting.
