PM asks BNP to give up politics of arson attacks
While replying to a point of order in the parliament, Sheikh Hasina said the BNP is trying to take advantage of people’s bad times amid the Covid-19 pandemic
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday called upon BNP to come to the right path by giving up the politics of arson, terrorism and conspiracy.
While replying to a point of order in the parliament, Sheikh Hasina said the BNP is trying to take advantage of people's bad times amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier, while raising a point of order in the Jatiya Sangsad, BNP lawmaker Harunur Rashid alleged that the government is oppressing BNP leaders by falsely implicating them in cases of arson attacks.
In this context, the prime minister stood up to speak.
At the beginning of her speech, the prime minister listened to the leaked phone conversation between BNP Vice-Chairman Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury and Farida Yasmin, a member of the party's central executive committee, from her mobile phone.
On the day of by-elections to Dhaka-17 and Sirajganj-1 constituencies, this conversation about setting fire to buses in different places of the capital was leaked.
