Global Youth Film Festival Bangladesh 2020 to take place in the hilly Bandarban
The jury board will announce the name of best 7 films on 28 December.
Global Youth Film Festival Bangladesh 2020 is here and this year the program will be held at the land of beauty, Bandarban.
The 4th Global Youth Film Festival which begins with the slogan "Lets Cinema" will start from 26 December and end on 28 December, according to a press release.
Organised by .Cinema Bangladesh, the film festival will showcase 75 films from all over the country and around the world to highlight the diversity and works of talented youths.
The festival will be inaugurated by the veteran theater artist Ramendu Majumdar, Chief Adviser of Cinema Bangladesh.
A total of 1400 films from 101 countries have been submitted to the festival. The jury board will announce the name of best 7 films on 28 December.
The International Jury Board comprises of esteemed personalities such as legendary filmmaker Morshedul Islam, Noted actress Farida Akhtar Babita, Director Abu Sayeed, Director Arifur Rahman, Theater artist and media personality Tropa Majumdar, Bangladeshi film activist and film critic Sadia Khalid Reeti.
The Global Youth Film Festival producer Hemant Sadiq revealed that a lot of Bangladeshi film submission has been nominated in the "Hiralal Sen Best Bangladeshi film" category which was launched in the 2nd edition of the film festival.
Hiralal Sen is one of the pioneer film-maker of Indian sub-continent who has contributed wonderfully in the development of films.
The festival will also showcase a special workshop on film-making for the participants. The workshop will showcase works of legendary film-maker Morshedul Islam's liberation war based movie "Amar Bondhu Rashed", Giasuddin Selim's "Swapnajaal" and National Award winning director Taneem Rahman Angshu's movie "No Dorai."
Festival director Jisan Mahadi said, "Due to the current pandemic situation, we could not request any international directors to be present physically in the event. But we have organised a video conference through which the foreign directors could interact with us throughout the festival. "
"The seating arrangement in the cinema halls have been organised as per the government's instruction. All the guests will be sprayed with disinfectant spray upon entering the hall premises. We have ensured complete safety protocols."
The audience will not have to pay any fees to enter the festival as per the statement by the organisers.
