Covid-19 claims 20 more lives

Bangladesh has recorded 20 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till 8am on Friday.
The country's death toll from this deadly pathogen now stands at 7,398, said a press statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the meantime, 1,163 people tested positive for the virus in the country.
The total number of novel coronavirus positive cases in the country is now 507,265.
The latest day's infection rate was 8.49% out of the total tests though the overall positivity rate in the country was 16.11% till date.
The death rate in the country now stands at 1.46%.
A total of 2,113 patients were declared free of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,48,803 with a recovery rate of 88.47%.
Among the latest day's victims, 14 were men and six women. Of them, 19 patients died in different hospitals across the country while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, 13,695 samples were tested in 163 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 3,149,348 samples have been tested in the country so far.
The country's first Covid-19 cases were reported on 8 March this year while the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
