Stocks tumble over intensive selling pressure
Turnover of the DSE fell by 25% to Tk 454.12 crore during the session
Indices of the both stock exchanges tumbled over investors' intensive selling pressure in the first one-and-half hour of trading session on Tuesday.
DSEX, the benchmark index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell by 1.24% or 71.92 points to settle at 5,717 till 11:30 am today.
Turnover of the DSE fell by 25% to Tk 454.12 crore during the session.
The newly listed company Energypac Power secured the top position in turnover chart with trading worth Tk91.49 crore and the share price fell by 6.91% to Tk86.20.
Moreover, DSE Shariah index DSES lost 1.10% to 1,282 points and blue-chip index DS30 fell 1.33% to 2,172 points.
During this session, 53 companies share price rose, while 213 issues fell and 79 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) plunged by 240 points to 16,637 till 11:30 am.
