F-commerce platform 'Easy Shopping' organises product exhibition in Chattogram
Some 50 entrepreneurs have participated in the three-day event
Chattogram-based F-commerce platform "Easy Shopping CTG" have organised a three-day "Easy Entrepreneur Product Exhibition" at the gymnasium of MA Aziz Stadium of the port city.
The exhibition started on 19 February and will continue till 21 February. Some 50 entrepreneurs have taken part in the event.
Rakib Uddin, founder and CEO of Easy Shopping, told The Business Standard, "The F-commerce group started its journey in June 2017. Currently, the group has some 1.23 lakh members, of whom about 4,000 are entrepreneurs. 80% of the entrepreneurs of the group are women."
He said the group members sell products worth around Tk2 crore every month.
"We often organise product display events to promote our entrepreneurs, connect the buyers to the sellers, and increase brand value."
Humaira Islam, admin of Easy Shopping, said, "We organise product exhibitions to expand the scope of business of small entrepreneurs. Easy Shopping has already organised three product exhibitions where products worth Tk30 lakh were sold in each event.
On the second day of the exhibition on 20 February, entrepreneurs were seen selling various essential items, including clothes, jewellery, showpieces, plants, and food, among other goods.
Shirin Akhter, who has a Facebook page named "Café Spice" where she sells snacks, is participating in the event and hopes to meet the target of reaching Tk1.5 lakh sales target during the three-day event.
Nasrin Sultana participated in the event with various plants at her stall Gachher Maa.
"The new generation is not much familiar with different plants and through my initiative, I want to play a part in changing that,'' she said.
Iqbal Mohsin – the founder of Shekar who started his business three months ago selling various spices, mustard oil, honey, tea, and molasses among other items – also participated in the exhibition and said that online business had become very popular now.
He thinks maintaining quality and commitment is also a vital part of succeeding on online platforms.
