Cricketers safe in quake-hit New Zealand

A magnitude 7.3 earthquake was felt near the east of New Zealand's North Island on Friday at 2:27 am NZ local time. This was followed by a Tsunami warning for mainly the coastal areas of North Island.
However, the Tigers touring New Zealand are all safe and unharmed, confirmed Jalal Yunus who is there with the team.

Bangladesh team is now in Christchurch which is in South Island and is a long distance away from the epicenter of the quake. Nevertheless, the Bangladesh Team management has been in contact with the local authorities who have assured that there was no reason for alarm in this part of the country.
The team has started practicing on the field in several groups from Thursday after completing seven days of isolation under strict rules.
