Police to vacate JU halls after 1pm
The authorities of Jahangirnagar University have decided to ask police to vacate its halls after 1pm today as protestors are still staying at the dormitories and staging protest on the campus.
"We have asked police to help vacating the halls if the students do not leave by 1pm," Bashir Ahmed, president of JU provost committee, told The Business Standard.
Meanwhile, teachers and students of the university are staging a solidarity rally in protest against the institution's decision of students having to vacate the residential halls.
They also urged the Chancellor to expel the incumbent Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam.
Protestors also demanded punishment of the VC under criminal law as she ordered Chhatra League to attack on them and for involvement in various corruptions.
