BGB deployed, police asked to stay alert
The government has deployed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members in Dhaka, Chattogram, Brahmanbaria and other parts of the country to control law and order as Islamist parties are protesting over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.
BGB Director (Operations) Lieutenant Colonel Fayzur Rahman confirmed The Business Standard about the BGB deployment on Saturday.
The deployment came a day after fierce clashes, between Islamists parties, police and ruling party men, in some parts of the country that claimed at least five lives and injured dozens.

Besides, police have also been asked to stay alert across the country.
Police Headquarters AIG (media) Sohel Rana said, "Police officials have been asked to remain alert as police stations might come under attacks."
Leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam and some Islamist parties clashed with police and ruling Awami League men on Friday in Dhaka, Chattogram and Brahmanbaria, when they were barred from protesting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit. At least five people were killed and dozens injured during the clashes.
