Amazon's forthcoming 'Lord of the Rings' TV series would cost $465 million to produce for one season, reports Variety.
The series, which is currently filming in New Zealand, will spend NZ$650 million on Season 1, which translates to 464.2 million in US dollars, according to Radio New Zealand.

'The Mandalorian', which all cost roughly $15 million per episode. Previous estimates for 'Lord of the Rings' put the production budget at $500 million for multiple seasons, not to mention the $250 million cost just for the rights from author JRR Tolkien's estate.
