Rain may shrink Eid celebrations

The Met Office has forecast light to moderate rain across the country in the morning on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims.
Eid-ul-Fitr, will be celebrated in the country on Friday.
Meteorologist, AKM Nazmul Haque told The Business Standard that rain accompanied with gusty wind may occur from the early morning on Friday.
The Met Office made the forecast for next 24 hours commencing from 6pm on Thursday.
Rain is likely to occur at some places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, BMD stated.
Light to moderate rain, thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal, Met office added.
Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated this year in a different scenario without any outdoor programmes and Eid congregations across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
