Petrol pump strike suspended till December 15
The decision was taken at a meeting with BPC officials
Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners-Workers Unity Council has suspended their strike till December 15 after getting assurance of meeting their demands.
The decision was taken at a meeting with Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) officials at Kawran Bazar in the capital today.
Syed Mehedi Hasan, director of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, briefed media that a meeting will be held tomorrow for discussing the two demands- increasing commission on oil sale and tank-lorry fare.

On December 15, another inter-ministerial meeting, led by State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Dipu, will take place to decide on the rest 13 demands.
"For now, we are convinced with the government's assurance and hope to have our 15-point demand met following the two meetings lined up at the secretariat," said Syed Sazzadul Karim Kabul, president of Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners' Association.
He also said, "We have requested the Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners-Workers Unity Council of the three divisions to resume their operations."
Earlier, the unity council enforced indefinite strike in three divisions - Khulna, Rajshahi and Rangpur - from Sunday morning to press home their 15-point demand including increasing commission on oil sale.
